Frozen Meals

The only time I've ever gone into the frozen food section is to pick up Chocolate, Chocolate Chip Haagen Daz ice cream. But with a freezer at my disposal, and so many meals to cook, I thought, why not?! After tasting the good, the bad, and the just-not-enough-food! meals, here's what I would suggest:

1. Amy's Kitchen, frozen meals (try the lasagna)
2. Trader Joe's Chicken Tikka Masala-- spicy and delicious (I'd suggest you make a salad on the side though... its not too much food)

When I find more delicious, frozen meals, I'll write!

Clean-Out-Your-Frige Dinner Burrito

It will have been be a full three weeks, this Sunday, when I finally make it to the grocery store. Running home after a quick interview in Dupont Circle, I realized that I only had 35 minutes to make myself dinner before my next class at 7, which clearly didn't leave enough time for a marketing excursion. After rooting around in my freezer and fridge-section (I've been relegated to 1/6 of our medium-sized refrigerator), here's what I found:

1 frozen wheat tortilla
1 frozen chicken sausage
frozen spinach
1/4 of an onion
1 egg (I literally only had 1 egg- pathetic!)
(aged... not by choice) cherry tomatoes

A breakfast/dinner burrito was the easiest solution. I quickly defrosted and crisped-up the sausage, took it out, and sauteed the onion with a handful of spinach (add salt and pepper) in the pan. I then cracked the egg on top and scrambled it all together, chopped up the sausage, halved the tomatoes and wrapped it up. Delish!! And I made it to class on time...
